Mariette is representing Sweden with the song ”A million Years”.
Mariette’s full name is Mariette Petra Carola Hansson. She was born in 1983 and grew up in a village called Harplinge outside Halmstad at the west coast, in southern Sweden. Nowadays she lives in Stockholm.
Mariette got her first guitar when she was 11 years old and as a teenager she sang in several coverbands and in 1999 she took part in a TV talent show called Sikta mot stjärnorna (Aim for the stars) but she didn’t won.
She released her first own produced album in 2008, called In this skin, under the artist name MaryJet. Her career as a solo artist seriously started in 2009 when she took part in the Swedish Idol a TV-talent show. She came 4th. And she also released the single Forever after that.
In 2015 she had her real big breakthrough when she came 2nd at Melodifestivalen with the song Don’t stop believing. The song became a big radiohit in Sweden and it also was selected by OGAE Sweden to represent the country in Second Chance Contest, in which it also ended up in the runner up position.
The song A million Years is written by Thomas G:son, Johanna Jansson, Peter Boström, Mariette Hansson, Jenny Hansson. It came 4th in this year’s Melodifestivalen but Mariette turned up to be the fan-favourite for the 2nd time. Will she make it to the top of Second Chance Contest this time?
